Overview

The Menstrual Health and Hygiene Promotion Program, led by the Health Communication and Life Skills Unit / Media and Publicity Unit of the Health Promotion Bureau, Sri Lanka, is designed to empower individuals with knowledge and practices essential for maintaining menstrual health. The program aims to break taboos and reduce stigma surrounding menstruation by providing accurate information, fostering open conversations, and promoting hygienic practices. Through educational workshops, interactive discussions, and community outreach initiatives, participants are guided on understanding menstrual cycles, managing hygiene, and addressing associated health concerns. The program’s responsibility includes creating awareness, promoting access to menstrual hygiene products, and encouraging an environment that supports dignity and well-being during menstruation.
