Development of the Health Education & Health Promotion Guide
The targets of HPB are achieved through the activities carried out in the districts and MOH area level. Therefore it is important to provide national level guidance for the implementation level to carry out the necessary functions in a uniform manner, while having the liberty to customize according to local needs. The guideline on achieving national targets and key performance indicators in health education and health promotion, Sri Lanka (2023-2030) is developed and disseminated to all relevant key health officials.
The Health Education Officers attached to the Provincial and Regional Directors of Health Offices are one of the key focal points in implementing HE & HP functions in respective levels. The HEOO are administratively and technically guided by the PDHS, RDHS and CCP in either provinces or districts respectively.
